Some of our local town halls exude country wedding character and are so perfect for celebrations, they are at the top of our list when someone starts talking about a country or DIY wedding.
Not only are they loaded with epic personality but they always have the amenities that a private property doesn’t - think air-con, port-a-loos, catering tents, electricity and water access.
We recently jumped on our Instagram and shared some beautiful alternative venue options for our couples planning their own DIY wedding on private property (at home) only for Covid restrictions to limit their guest lists or completely disallow their plans altogether! These are saved to our stories but we wanted to share further some of our all time favourites here in more detail!
Callignee Hall
Honestly, we couldn’t start this blog off with any other! We have been at this Hall more than any other… possibly all of them combined! Not just one of our favorites but clearly our couples as well!
Only 20 minutes from Traralgon, Callignee Hall has fantastic amenities; Commercial kitchen, Free undercover BBQ, Disabled access and toilets and an outdoor playground. The reserve is perfect for ceremonies and bridal photos. The real appeal of this hall is the stunning light-filled blank canvas it provides, the large glass windows and the beautiful timber floors create a basis for your own wedding style.

Valencia Soldiers Memorial Hall
Only 20 minutes from Maffra, Valencia Creek Hall has stunning timber floors, a commercial kitchen and great adjacent outdoor area perfect for food trucks and caravan bars! This hall is also perfectly situated across the road from the most picturesque little church we have seen!
Honestly, this hall is so perfect for a laid back, vintage / rural DIY wedding!

Budgeree Hall
Budgeree Hall is the true definition of a country town hall, built in 1910 it has high ceilings with visual beams make a beautiful venue for any event. Outdoors you can find a stunning oak tree and lush trees perfect for a shaded ceremony! It has also recently been fully fitted with a functional kitchen.
If it’s a rustic country town wedding you’re after, Budgeree Hall is it!
